Project S01

Demonstrator for the potential of multifunctional highperformance components made of hybrid porous materials

Within the central service project S01, the activities and results of all projects within the TRR 375 are brought together and validated. By successively replacing conventional components with HyPo-components in a commercially available milling machine, a demonstrator will be set up to provide feedback on the performance of HyPo-components. To this end, suitable components that can be replaced by HyPo-components are first identified and characterized. Based on the experimentally determined static and dynamic properties of these components, boundary conditions for the design and production of the HyPo-components are determined and passed on to the respective scientific projects. In addition to these static and dynamic properties of the individual components, the application behavior is also characterized in machining tests. The potential of the HyPo-materials is quantifiably demonstrated by comparison with the use of conventional components. The service project thus acts as a central interface for the validation and evaluation of the various models and strategies developed in the scientific projects for the design and manufacture of HyPo-components.
