Stays abroad

In order to promote international relations and experiences, the iRTG supports the realization of stays abroad at research institutions by covering the costs of travel and accommodation. If you are interested in a stay abroad within the framework of TRR 375, please contact the MGK in advance (2 months forward).

Unless otherwise agreed, the MGK will pay:

  • Travel costs for 2nd class train and economy class flight.
  • Accommodation costs by arrangement (depending on location and duration of stay up to a maximum of 1,500 euros per month).
  • Daily allowance in accordance with the applicable state travel expenses law (LRKG), but only for working days Mon-Fri.

By granting the daily allowance, the iRTG does not assume any further costs incurred, such as:

  • Visa
  •     Health insurance abroad
  • Facilities / equipment costs for apartment
  • Postage for work equipment

A prerequisite for receiving funding from the iRTG for a stay abroad is the preparation of a report on the time spent abroad (for more information, see below).
In addition, the iRTG supports short-term scholarships for young researchers who are involved in TRR 375 sub-projects for a limited period of up to 12 months.

Experience report on a stay abroad

Dear TRR 375 doctoral researchers who went abroad,
we at the iRTG would like to share your experiences during your stay abroad, from the organization to your experiences at the host university and much more, with the other doctoral researchers and ask each of you to write a report on your stay abroad funded by the TRR 375.
