Project B02
Process-integrated foaming in additive manufacturing of hybrid components
The aim of the project is to develop a new aluminium alloy for foamable wire-shaped semi-finished products used for foaming additively manufactured structures. The challenge is to strike a balance between foamability, formability, coilability and weldability. The wires are processed in the WAAM process and foamed with a secondary heat source. In addition to the influence of the alloy components on the workability, the microstructure-property relationships after foaming are the focus of the investigations.
